EFT Basics::

Here is a brief overview of the Tapping points that are commonly used during a session. While tapping, you will be stating various phrases based upon a specific emotional or physical problem.

You will be tapping with your fingertips on certain key points on your face and body using the same pressure you would use if you were tapping on a table to make a drumming sound. Tap roughly 5-7 times in each location. Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap.

Often you will start by tapping on the karate chop point located on the side of the hand. While continuously tapping you will be stating three times, “Even though” statements to tune into your emotions and physical discomfort. Either hand can be used. You will be using the pads of the finger tips on the opposite hand to tap the karate chop point of your other hand.

Next, you will move thru a series of points, listed in order below, starting at the top of the head and working your way down the body, making the points easy to remember. Your energy system is interconnected, therefore, each point you tap will resonate throughout your entire body. Phrasing will  be used while tapping through this series of points.

(These are the points in the short form of EFT that we will be using. Additional points may be used during sessions depending on the needs of each individual.)

The top of the head point is located at the crown of your head. Tap gently on top of the head with all of your fingers from one hand. (This point is not included in the original EFT tapping sequence, but has since been found to be helpful)

The inner eyebrow point is located at the inside point of the eyebrow, nearest the center of the face. Use the index and middle finger together, on both hands, to tap both eyebrow points simultaneously.

The side of the eye point is located on the bone at the outer side of the eye, between the temple and the eye. Use the fingertips of the index and middle finger together and tap on both sides of the eye at the same time.

The under the eye point is on the bone located under the center of the eye even with the pupil when looking straight ahead. Using the fingertips of the index and middle finger, gently tap this spot under both eyes.

Now tap under the nose with the fingertips of the index and middle finger of one hand. This point is roughly midway between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lip.

The chin point is mid-way between the bottom of the lower lip and the chin, in the indentation area. Using the fingertips of the index and middle finger tap at the indentation.

The collarbone point is located below the notch at the base of the throat. Move about one inch down from the notch and one inch right or left. Use all of your fingers to tap both sides. This creates a very nice vibration in the upper chest. These are good points to use by themselves when you are feeling anxious or stressed.

The under the arm point is located about 4 inches below the armpit on the side of the body. Lift either arm and use the fingers of the opposite hand to tap under the arm.

Often you will be directed to end the series of tappings at the top of the head, however, you may stop the tapping at any point and still have benefits. It is the combination of the tapping and the phrasing that makes this technique so powerful and beneficial.
